Aww! The older ones are pretty resistant to being handled, however, if if you're trying to save them from getting smooshed on a busy street. For example. ;-)
Bette - Indeed! I can't tell you how many older ones I have tried to help get across the road. They're never, ever appreciative.
This little one will only get meaner, I'm afraid. I think we encountered him at his best! ;)
Yup Large turtles rescues are tricky.
